Dr. Neil Farrington – DVM
Dr. Farrington was born and raised in Scottsdale, AZ. He graduated from Veterinary School at Colorado State University in 1982.
Prior to purchasing Catalina Animal Hospital, he practiced for many years in Mesa AZ, where he also helped raise his 2 daughters, Ashley & Lindsay.
He enjoys exercise, watching baseball, gardening, and reading. Dr Farrington and his wife Maria, have 3 cats Honey, Junior, and Leo.
Dr. Derek Osterheld – DVM
Dr. Osterheld attended undergraduate College in New Jersey, Florida, Colorado and Scotland. He is a 1996 Ross University veterinary graduate, finishing his veterinary education in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
He’s the proud owner of Bosco, his horse and Pappy, his cat. They have been with him through all his years in vet school. For the past 20 years, he has worked in both day practice, and emergency small animal veterinary medicine. He appreciates the connection clients have with their regular day practice veterinarian. In his free time, he really enjoys cooking, skiing, and spending time with his wife and mom. He has a passion for the farm life, since growing up helping his dad with the farm back home.
Maria Farrington – Office Manager
Maria was born and raised in Colombia, South America, and moved to Arizona in 2012. In addition to her duties managing the animal hospital, she provides holistic therapies for our pet patients, something that she really enjoys practicing.
In her free time Maria enjoys continuing education, cooking, and watching baseball. She enjoys spending most of her time with her husband and their 3 cats.
Edward Chun – Veterinary Technician
Edward is a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician with over 6 years of experience supporting veterinary teams in delivering exceptional animal care.
Skilled in areas such as anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, laboratory diagnostics, radiology, and patient care, Edward plays a vital role in both preventive and emergency care settings. Known for a calm demeanor and strong communication skills, he excels in high-pressure situations and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Currently working at Catalina Animal Hospital, Edward is committed to ongoing professional development and often participates in continuing education to stay up to date on the latest veterinary practices and technologies. Outside of work, he has hobbies volunteering at shelters, watching movies, animal behavior, and spending time with his girlfriend and shiba inu’s.
Matthew Cacas – Veterinary Technician
Matthew is a fairly new face in the veterinary field, having just finished his course at Pima Medical Institute in December of 2024, but he has shown a consistent drive to help the clients and patients as best as he can. Matthew has grown up with dogs and cats his whole life and always wanted to be able to help them when he was older. Matthew’s 3 dogs Rocky, Luna, and Sky are all frequent patients to the clinic, and he has always tried to treat the client’s pets like he does his own.
Outside of work, Matthew likes to spend time engaging in his other major interests, such as baseball and music. Matthew plans to continue helping and raising dogs and cats into the far future
Ian Rivera Matos – Veterinary Technician
Ian was born in Puerto Rico, and then his family moved to Colorado when his father received a promotion. There Ian went to Colorado State University where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Zoology, exemplifying his love for animals. Now, Ian is a veterinary student at Midwestern University- Glendale with a passion for birds and public health.
Brianna Bidabe – Receptionist
My name’s BriAnna, I’m the receptionist at Catalina Animal Hospital. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona – I’ve worked in 3 different Veterinary offices. Animals have always been a passion of mine; I’ve brought home sick/injured strays home and nursed them back to health since I was 3. I have 6 cats and 2 dogs currently and they are all my world & more! My ultimate goal is always to help everyone’s pets’ needs to the best of my ability, all the while making everyone feel like part of the family. Don’t be shy if you see me!
